Our company was founded in 1994 to produce spill barriers and channel covers. Spill barriers ensure that no contaminated water can emerge from the building openings on ground level in case of a fire.

A stop log also blocks liquids at an opening or in a raceway like a water barrier. Due to the almost identical construction and sealing technology, we soon incorporated stop logs / stop log boards in our product range.

Barriers, which prevent the water from emerging out of the building, must also be able to prevent water flowing into the building. The demand for flood protection barriers / flood protection gates increased when floods caused substantial damage to more and more buildings in the 1990s.  IBS was among the first providers of standardised flood protection components for so-called property protection.

The options, which a flood protection offers that is directly installed on a building, only protect a certain number of openings at a height that significantly depends on the buoyancy of the building. Protecting entire city districts or towns against flooding is only possible to a limited extent with these static methods. Therefore, we decided to place a mobile flood protection wall at some distance to developed areas.

IBS constructed the first mobile flood protection walls in Wertheim am Main. Other projects at the Danube, Moselle and Rhine soon followed.  Meanwhile, mobile flood protection walls by IBS protect residents and their property from the devastating effects of flooding in all German states.

In view of an increasing number of floods, the global markets are developing dynamically. We successfully export our high-tech products to England, Ireland, the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, France, Switzerland, Austria, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Japan, Thailand, Australia and the USA.

We are also a powerful supplier in the machine construction and hydraulic engineering sector to use our modern processing centres (edging, drilling, welding, machining) to full capacity.

In order to optimally meet our customers' demands, all services are performed in our own company. All services like sales, development, construction and dimensioning, work preparation, production and the assembly of the systems are performed by IBS employees.

 

5 engineers and 7 technicians in our sales, development, construction and dimensioning departments deal with the subject of mobile flood protection in their everyday work. They comprise one of the strongest competence teams, both national as well as international, for this niche product. Our employees are in contact with numerous authorities in the water industry, water engineering companies at colleges and universities, planning engineers as well as builders and operators of the flood protection systems. Our company exchanges the derived knowledge with other experts and interesting parties at industry fairs, conferences and in industry magazines. This way, we have collected a lot of know-how in our company in many discussions about mobile flood protection across all federal states as well as in projects abroad.

Based on this knowledge, we work out creative, flexible and professional solutions for the flood protection requirements of our customers and partners.
